Author Event at The London Library: ‘Under The Covers’ An evening with David Nicholls & Mel Giedroyc

Once again in the wonderful Reading Room of the London Library, this time to attend a regular event called 'Under the Covers'. The evening was chaired by bibliotherapist Ella Berthoud and was an interview with the wonderful David Nicholls and the hilarious Mel Giedroyc. The rather flamboyant host delved into all things books with both of them, their favourite books, their first loved books, and their reading habits.
Both Mel and David entertained with lovely little anecdotes from their lives about how they remember reading. True to the format of 'Under the Covers', the evening ended with Ella turning bibliotherapist in earnest, offering each of them a little literary prescription in response to whatever was on their minds that week, a lovely, playful close to the conversation.
It was a wonderful, entertaining evening, slightly different from most other book talks but enriching all the same.
