Erika Banerji
Erika Banerji was born in Assam to Bengali parents, grew up in New Delhi and moved to England in her early twenties. Drawing on her life in India and England, her fiction is intimate and truthful, searching for those surprising moments of grace in the most ordinary existence.
She is the winner of the 2025 Harper’s Bazaar short story prize and was part of the London Library’s Emerging Writers programme. She is currently putting together a collection of interlinked short stories.
She is based in London.
